SOPA UNDER MATTAN / SWEEP

casted and welded aluminium. 2021.

This work is based on the saying "swept under the rug" and is a 140x200 cm large carpet in aluminum that hides things underneath. The carpet is casted in sand, making all 21 parts unique. The parts were welded together so that it is in one part. The aluminum in the carpet comes from discarded aluminum rims that I cleaned and then melted down.
